Artist Statement

Sometimes it is big, shining moments of triumph that define us, sometimes it is the small, consistent ways that we show up to our lives every day, and sometimes it is simply the fact that we held on and made it through at all.

This collection showcases five women who embody these three forms of resilience, along with pieces of nature that embody that resilience as well.

Artist Bio:
I am an artist and educator based in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. I create realist charcoal portraits and nature-inspired paintings from my cozy (and sometimes chaotic) home studio.

Creating art helps me to better understand and appreciate the world around me. My hope is that it will do the same for those who enjoy my work. It is my goal to share as much meaning and beauty as I can with others
