The Carrot Friday Nite Live presents
Tim Chesterton and Jessica Heine
Tim Chesterton was born in the UK but has lived in Canada for forty-seven years. He has been playing guitar since he was in his early teens.
Tim sees himself primarily as an interpreter of traditional folk songs. He is inspired by the rich heritage of folk music - songs written in previous centuries, usually by unknown authors, and then passed down by word of mouth, molded and remolded by each successive generation. He wants to take his place in that tradition, passing on these wonderful old songs to new audiences today. He especially loves songs that tell stories, and his own songwriting is mainly in the storytelling vein. His repertoire also includes instrumental pieces, both his own compositions and also traditional tunes.
Singer and songwriter Jessica Heine's dynamic voice shakes rooms - she's a classically trained vocal performer, but her passion is the power of song, shared through the folk tradition. Her writing, often used to process what's happening in the world around her, showcases a hopeful strength of spirit that she breathes not only into her music, but her life as well.
