Melafrique is an Afro-fusion band formed in Edmonton, Canada in 2016. The name Melafrique is a condensed form of the term "Melanin from Africa". They play a variety of genres: Jazz, R&B, Reggae, Neo-soul; in combination with different African styles of music. Melafrique hopes to inspire the world with good music, in every sense of the word, 'good'. Through music, they express their identities as Africans, as musicians, and all the other identities that they each come with. Their band includes members from: Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Angola, Jamaica and Canada. (Associated acts: Riwo Egor, Enoch Attey)

Ru is a singer-songwriter out of Canada who looks for inspiration from every aspect of life to bring soulful tones to the stories of her own life and the ones of those around her. Ru’s music takes on inspiration from Indie, Neo-soul, Folk-Pop and R&B music to give her the sound that she has today.

A duo dedicated to making you groove. Victor and Victor have been writing and performing music together for 5 years. They prefer to define their style as undefined, mixing jazz, rock, rnb, and whatever obscure nonsense they can find on Youtube. Pulling inspiration from the past and the present, they aim to create music that makes them feel and in turn they hope will make you feel. 

Lise is a 21 year old singer song-writer born in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. From the young age of 7 she started her singing career in the classical realm of music, and then later made her way into fields such as pop and R&B.

Riwo Egor

Riwo Egor

Riwo is a Nigerian born singer and songwriter. She is the lead vocalist of the band Melafrique. She has been performing since she moved to Edmonton in 2015, and has done so alongside various artists, both local and international. She is very passionate about sharing messages and personal stories through music, and enjoys doing so through the Neo-soul, R&B, Soul and Afro-Jazz styles of music. She believes in the power of music to heal wounds, and cause people to connect with each other on so many levels. One of her biggest goals in life is for her music to bring unity in the diversity of our crazy world. 

On January 13th, Riwo released a collaborative single, Safe Space, and you can find it and her other music on all streaming platforms.
